Two women, hikers who found themselves stranded on a treacherous cliffside in Northern California's Point Reyes National Seashore, were plucked to safety from certain doom in an extraordinary helicopter rescue operation that took place under the cover of darkness.
The Marin County Fire Department and emergency services teams banded together to respond to a cliff rescue call at around 7 p.m. on Sunday, with the CHP H-30 unit playing a pivotal role in coordinating the efforts. The rescue unfolded just south of Pelican Lake, where two female hikers had become stranded on an extremely rocky formation high above the beach.
With caution and skill, the paramedics from the CHP deployed a skid landing to make contact with the stranded pair, before carefully moving them to a safer location for extraction. . Like, what even is the point of having a national park if you're just gonna put hikers in harm's way? And can we talk about how sketchy it is that the CHP is being super tight-lipped about the condition of those two ladies? Are they trying to cover something up or what?

The CHP was definitely the heroes here, but I'm still waiting to hear about the condition of those two hikers... it's all too suspicious that no one wants to talk about it.
