2 hikers stranded on Point Reyes cliff saved in dramatic helicopter rescue

Two women, hikers who found themselves stranded on a treacherous cliffside in Northern California's Point Reyes National Seashore, were plucked to safety from certain doom in an extraordinary helicopter rescue operation that took place under the cover of darkness.

The Marin County Fire Department and emergency services teams banded together to respond to a cliff rescue call at around 7 p.m. on Sunday, with the CHP H-30 unit playing a pivotal role in coordinating the efforts. The rescue unfolded just south of Pelican Lake, where two female hikers had become stranded on an extremely rocky formation high above the beach.

With caution and skill, the paramedics from the CHP deployed a skid landing to make contact with the stranded pair, before carefully moving them to a safer location for extraction. Once in position, the crew of H-30 performed another daring skid landing along the cliff face, before expertly loading the two hikers onto the helicopter.

The dramatic rescue operation was finally brought to an end as the helicopter lifted off into the night sky, whisking the relieved pair away from the treacherous coastline and towards medical care. But with the drama now over, CHP officials remain tight-lipped about the condition of the rescued hikers, leaving their fate hanging in the balance until further notice.

Ugh, great, just what I needed to see on my evening news feed... another near-death experience that's gonna make me sleep with one eye open tonight πŸ•°οΈ. Like, what even is the point of having a national park if you're just gonna put hikers in harm's way? And can we talk about how sketchy it is that the CHP is being super tight-lipped about the condition of those two ladies? Are they trying to cover something up or what? πŸ€” I mean, I get that accidents happen and all, but come on, at least have the decency to give us some kinda update. This whole thing just reeks of mystery and potential malfeasance...

πŸŒƒ I mean, who needs a Netflix show when you have helicopter rescues on the cliffside? Like, can we get some popcorn and a dramatic score to go with that? Anyway, glad those two ladies made it out alive... now about those medical bills πŸ€‘πŸ˜¬

Ugh, can't believe they don't give us updates on the rescue victims πŸ€”. I mean, we're talking about a near-death experience here and they just leave it at "they're receiving medical care" πŸš‘. No details, no explanation, nothing. It's like they're trying to keep us in the dark... or should I say, in the darkness of that treacherous cliff side πŸ˜‚. Seriously though, shouldn't we know if they made it or not? It's not like they asked for a thrilling adventure at 7 p.m. on a Sunday πŸŒ…. Anyway, glad those two hikers are safe, but come on, CHP, spill the beans! πŸ’¬

man that was crazy 🀯! i mean, can you imagine being stranded on a cliffside like that? it's so scary just thinking about it 😱. and the fact that they had to wait for what felt like forever for rescue is just gut-wrenching πŸ€•. I'm glad everything worked out in the end, but ugh the not knowing part is just brutal πŸ’”. do you think the firefighters were under a lot of pressure during the rescue? πŸš’πŸ’¨

just had to see that one - like who needs a beach vacation when you can have a cliffside rescue? 🌊😱 anyway, it's crazy how quick they were able to get those paramedics and helicopters on the scene. i guess the fact that it was nighttime helped too - less people out there means more room for rescue ops! also, i'm kinda curious about what happened before the hikers got stranded... did they take a wrong turn or something? anyway, gotta hope those girls are doing okay 🀞

That was insane! I'm so relieved those two hikers are safe but I'm also kinda impressed by the helicopter team's skills πŸšπŸ’¨ They must have been super calm and focused during that rescue. It's crazy how much danger they put themselves in to save these people, especially at night when visibility is limited. The fact that they got two women out safely without any major incidents is just amazing. I'm also wondering what happened to them before the rescue - were they lost, did they slip? Not knowing their fate now is kinda unsettling but I hope they're getting the medical care they need ASAP 🀞

omg u guys i'm literally shaking just thinking bout those 2 women stranded on that cliff 😱🚁 they must've been so scared & alone up there! like what if it rained or the wind got too strong? 🀯 and can u believe that CHP H-30 unit was able to make not one but TWO skid landings?!?! πŸ’₯ i mean, i know the paramedics were trained for this kind of thing but still... the thought of those women being up there in the dark without any safety net is just terrifying πŸ˜“ so fingers crossed they're doing okay now 🀞 and btw can we talk about how amazing the CHP team is? πŸ’–

Ugh, this helicopter rescue op is wild 🀯! I mean, can you imagine being stuck on a cliffside at night with no way to climb down? 😱 It's crazy that the CHP H-30 unit was able to coordinate such a daring rescue, and that the paramedics were so careful when deploying the skid landing thingy. πŸš‘πŸ’₯ The fact that they had to do two landings on the cliff face is just insane - it's like something out of a movie! 😲 And now the hikers are safe and sound in medical care, which is the best outcome, fingers crossed for them though... πŸ˜”

😩 Just read that 2 women got stranded on a cliff in Point Reyes National Seashore and had to be rescued by helicopter... still can't believe what some people do to themselves 🀯 And now they're just gonna be left in limbo without any updates, which is super scary for their loved ones 😬. I mean, at least the rescue team did an amazing job, but it's always so bittersweet when someone gets rescued only to have their status unknown... can't help but feel a little anxious about their well-being πŸ€•

omg what a crazy rescue 😱!! i mean like two women stranded on a cliff like what were they thinking πŸ€”?! but seriously tho, huge props to the CHP and all the emergency services teams who worked together to get them out safely πŸ’― that skid landing was insane πŸ”₯ can't even imagine how nerve-wracking it must've been for everyone involved πŸ˜…

πŸŒƒ I'm still shaking my head over that crazy rescue op... what a relief for those two lucky ladies who got to make it out alive! The bravery of the firefighters and emergency responders can't be overstated πŸ™, and I have to give a shoutout to the CHP H-30 unit – they're the real MVPs in this story. And, omg, the helicopter rescue itself? 😱 That's some next-level stuff right there... I mean, who gets rescued from certain doom by landing on a cliff face under the cover of darkness? πŸŒƒ Only Point Reyes National Seashore, am I right?

πŸšπŸ’‘ I was watching this on TV last night and my heart was racing thinking those two ladies were going to be stuck up there forever! The bravery of that helicopter crew and the paramedics is just incredible πŸ™Œ. It's amazing how quickly they all came together as a team to save those hikers. And can you believe the CHP unit did 2 skid landings on that cliff face? 😱 I mean, I'm no expert, but even for me, that sounds like a death wish! Thankfully everyone made it out safely and I hope those two ladies are okay 🀞. The mystery of their condition is killing me - will they be alright? πŸ€”

When you're trying to get rescued from a cliff and they just keep saying "we'll tell you later πŸ€”"... [GIF of a person shrugging with a confused expression πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ]

OMG I'm still shakin' just thinkin bout those 2 girls stranded on that cliff 😱🚁 like what if they didn't make it?? 🀞 they're so lucky to have such amazing first responders who risked their lives to save them πŸ’• my bf is a medic and he's always talkin bout how crazy these rescue ops are, I can only imagine how intense it must've been for the people on the ground πŸ™Œ anyway I'm just glad everyone's safe and sound πŸŒƒπŸ’–

Ugh, I'm still shaking my head about this rescue operation... like, what were these two women thinking, hiking on that cliffside at night? 😱 And then for them to get stranded and have to rely on some helicopter crew to save their lives? It's just another example of how reckless people can be when they're out in the wilderness. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ The CHP was definitely the heroes here, but I'm still waiting to hear about the condition of those two hikers... it's all too suspicious that no one wants to talk about it. πŸ’”

omg that's crazy!!! 🀯 1 star hike for those girls lol, but seriously i'm just glad they're safe. what a team effort tho - like, CHP H-30 unit saving the day! πŸ’ͺ and can't even imagine being stuck on that cliff with no way down... 😱 hope they make a full recovery now

πŸšβ€β›°οΈ just wow! 2 ladies in distress on a cliffside in Point Reyes National Seashore... whoa, that's one crazy situation . the rescue operation was so well-coordinated, I love how the CHP H-30 unit played a key role πŸ™Œ. and the paramedics were super careful with their skid landings, it's like they had a backup plan just in case πŸ˜…. now i'm curious about those hikers... how are they doing? 🀞 hoping for a speedy recovery πŸ’ͺ

Ugh, can you believe how close those two girls came to disaster?! 🀯 I mean, a helicopter rescue under the cover of darkness? That's insane! The paramedics and CHP team did an amazing job, though - super cautious, careful, and skilled. I'm just glad they were able to get those ladies out safely in one piece.

But honestly, can we talk about how crazy it is that they got stranded on a cliff in the first place? Like, what was going through their minds when they decided to hike alone in Point Reyes National Seashore at night? πŸ€” It's just not worth the risk. I'm sure those two are shaking with gratitude right now.

And can we please just give it up for the CHP team, though? They're the real heroes here - coordinating the rescue effort and executing it flawlessly under pressure. Hats off to them! πŸ’―
