Feeding San Diego seeks more volunteers

Volunteers Sought for Feeding San Diego's Annual Event

In an effort to make a bigger impact in the community, Feeding San Diego is reaching out for volunteers to help with its upcoming event on Tuesday. While they are always in need of regular volunteers, the organization is now pushing for 150 extra hands to assist with the convention.

The event, which has partnered with other organizations to utilize excess food locally, aims to reduce food waste and make a tangible difference in San Diego's food landscape. Anyone interested in lending their time can sign up on Feeding San Diego's website.

What's more, the organization is actively seeking volunteers for various roles throughout the year, further emphasizing its commitment to community service. Last fiscal year alone saw over 12,500 volunteers dedicate their time to Feeding San Diego, equivalent to nearly 31 full-time employees.

Additionally, the group successfully rescued over 36.2 million pounds of food from more than 780 food donors in the previous fiscal year. With a growing need for initiatives addressing food insecurity, Feeding San Diego's efforts have garnered significant attention and support from the community.

another opportunity to go hungry... literally 🍴😩. i mean, who needs all that extra food anyway? it's not like san diego is still recovering from those devastating wildfires 2 years ago... 🌳🔥. and now they're worried about food waste? seems like just another excuse for the city to spend more money on "initiatives" 🤑.

🤔 I'm telling you, something fishy is going on here... think about it, they're only asking for 150 extra volunteers at the last minute, but last year they had over 12,500 regulars? That's like a whole new team! And what's up with all these organizations partnering up to reduce food waste? Sounds like a way to funnel more resources into their pockets 🤑. I'm not saying it's necessarily bad, but there has to be a motive behind it... maybe they're just trying to distract us from something bigger?

🤗 I think it's so awesome that Feeding San Diego is looking for extra volunteers to help with their annual event! Not only will you get to meet new people, but you'll also be making a real difference in your community by reducing food waste and helping those who need it most 🍴. Plus, signing up on their website sounds easy peasy - I'd definitely consider volunteering my time for this awesome cause 🌟

omg i'm so down to volunteer at this event 🤩!! its amazing that feeding san diego is trying to reduce food waste, thats like literally one of my biggest pet peeves 🙄. i mean think about it, all that food just getting wasted and then we're still struggling with food insecurity... its like we need to step up our game! 👊 anyway, 150 more volunteers would be a huge help, lets get this event organized and make a real difference in the community 💪🏽. i'm literally going to sign up for that on their website right now 📲💻

Ugh, this is so obvious 🙄 - they can't organize an event without needing extra volunteers? Like, did they not plan this out enough? Still, I guess it's great that they're trying to make a bigger impact on the community... 150 more hands are never gonna hurt 😂. And seriously, 12,500 volunteers last year is impressive 🤯, I just wish they didn't have so much work for us common folk. All these food rescues and events sound like a lot of stress... but hey, if it's making a difference, that's what matters 💪. Maybe next time can we get some more training on how to run an event efficiently? 🤷‍♀️

I'm so stoked to see Feeding San Diego going all out to make a bigger impact in the community 🤩! I mean, we're already talking about 12k+ volunteers last year, but adding 150 more extra hands is like, whoa 💪! It just shows how dedicated they are to reducing food waste and making a real difference in San Diego. I'm all for it, tbh 🙌. And the fact that they're not just limited to one event, but offering opportunities throughout the year? That's even more awesome 🎉. We should totally support this kind of initiative and keep showing our love for Feeding San Diego 💕!

Ugh, another event to deal with all that food waste... 🤕 150 volunteers to help spread out the workload, I guess? Feeding San Diego's doing a great job, but it's just so many people relying on their efforts. And those stats they're mentioning? 36.2 million pounds of food rescued? That sounds like a huge burden on those volunteers... 🤯
