Ugh , this whole thing is super messed up. I mean, can't they just leave people alone? ICE is supposed to be about keeping us safe, not shooting our own citizens. It's so unfair that Maria Guadalupe Ortiz had to die like that. She was trying to defend herself and now her family has to deal with the trauma of losing their loved one.
I'm so tired of all this politics and blaming games. Mayor Frey is right to say that ICE's presence in Minneapolis is making things worse, not better. It's time for them to listen to the community and do what's best for everyone, not just themselves. And no, Maria didn't commit domestic terrorism by trying to run over an agent. That's just not true.
I'm also so done with Trump administration officials like Stephen Miller and Kristi Noem trying to spin this as some kind of heroism story. They need to stop making excuses for ICE's actions and take responsibility for keeping our communities safe. This is a huge escalation of tensions, and I hope something changes soon.
