Leicester City: No Jamie Vardy replacement, struggling for wins & off-field issues have led to poor start

Leicester City's 2015-16 title-winning team is now a distant memory, with the current side languishing in 14th place in the Championship. The Foxes have struggled to find consistency, picking up just four wins from their first 13 games, and are now staring down the barrel of a relegation battle.

The team's lack of attacking edge has been particularly noticeable. Jamie Vardy, who played such a crucial role in securing that title-winning season, is no longer on the books. The current front three - Jordan Ayew, Patson Daka, and Julian Carranza - have combined for just one goal, highlighting the absence of any real threat up front.

Even Vardy's successor in Ayew has not been able to replicate his success, scoring just once in nine starts this season. The former Lorient man is now 34 years old, which makes him a prime candidate for being played out of position as Leicester attempt to get by without a natural number nine.

Their back-up strikers have also failed to impress, with Daka finding the net just once in his last 50 appearances and Carranza handed just two starts all season. The Foxes are struggling to even claim that they are missing chances or creating opportunities, instead being roughly in line with their Expected Goals (xG) this season.

The current managerial setup has also been questioned, particularly the appointment of Marti Cifuentes, who won praise for his work at QPR but seems out of his depth at Leicester. The club's financial situation is also concerning, with chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha dealing with issues off the pitch that are affecting the team's performance on it.

Leicester face a critical period ahead, starting with two games against Middlesbrough and Norwich. If they fail to respond strongly to these challenges, there could be another change in course for the Foxes.

ugh its so sad to see leicester struggle like this ๐Ÿค• after all their amazing 2016 title win they just seem lost atm without jamie vardy at the helm and marti cifuentes not quite living up to expectations ๐Ÿค” cant say im surprised tho considering the financial issues and lack of depth in the squad...and aiyawatt needs to sort out his stuff off the pitch if he wants the foxes to turn it around ๐Ÿšจ

Meh, I'm not buying into all this relegation talk ๐Ÿค”... Leicester's had some tough years before and come out on top. But seriously, have you seen the squad lately? It's like they're playing a game of musical chairs - everyone's getting in and out, but no one's really stepping up โšฝ๏ธ. And don't even get me started on Cifuentes... he just doesn't seem to know how to handle the pressure ๐Ÿ’ธ. The financial situation is sketchy, I'll give them that, but I still think they've got a few tricks up their sleeve ๐Ÿ”ฎ. They need to get some consistent performances and start creating chances, not just sitting there waiting for the other team to make mistakes ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ. And if all else fails... well, maybe it's time for a change ๐Ÿ’ช?

Ugh ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ, Leicester City is officially a shadow of its former self ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ. I mean, who doesn't love watching a team that's struggling to score more than 1 goal per game? ๐Ÿ˜ด It's not like they're playing cat and mouse with their opponents or anything... just kinda... meh ๐Ÿ’€. And don't even get me started on Vardy's departure โ€“ the foxes' attack is basically gone ๐ŸฆŠ๐Ÿ’”. I'm surprised Ayew hasn't retired yet at this point, considering his goal-scoring drought ๐Ÿคฏ. The team's financial situation and managerial changes are definitely not helping matters ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ“‰. They're basically playing a game of "can we just avoid relegation?" ๐ŸŽฒ. Middlesbrough and Norwich better bring their A-game, because the Foxes are looking like they might need to scramble for survival ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Ugh, I don't know man... ๐Ÿค” I'm thinking Leicester's in big trouble, but at the same time, can we give them a break? They're got some tough games coming up and their new manager might need some time to figure things out... 50 appearances without a goal for Daka is still pretty decent, right? ๐Ÿ˜’ And Ayew's scoring record isn't all bad either, he's just not getting the service upfront. Maybe they should try playing him on the wing instead of as a striker? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I'm also not convinced that Cifuentes is the problem... I mean, have you seen his stats at QPR? That guy was a dark horse! ๐Ÿฆ‡ He's probably just being scapegoated for the team's poor performance. And let's be real, Aiyawatt's financial issues are a major concern, but is that really on Cifuentes' watch? Not sure... ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I guess what I'm saying is, Leicester's in a tough spot, but we shouldn't count them out just yet. They've been in this situation before and bounced back... or maybe they'll implode ๐Ÿ˜ณ

omg i feel like leicester city is just not getting any love rn their squad looks so bare and lacking a real goal threat ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ its crazy how far they've fallen since that 2016 title-winning season ๐Ÿ˜ฉ marti cifuentes gotta be wondering if he's made a mistake taking the reins, all those expectations are weighing on him big time โš”๏ธ the financial situation is just another nail in the coffin, it feels like chairman aiyawatt srivaddhanaprabha needs to get his priorities straight ASAP ๐Ÿ’ธ these next two games against middlesbrough and norwich will be super crucial, leicester needs to step up their game or else... ๐Ÿค”

man this is so sad ๐Ÿค• leicester city went from being the underdogs who won the premiership to now struggling in the championship it's like they're having identity crisis ๐Ÿ’” i remember when jamie vardy was leading the line and we thought he was going to score goals for years to come but now he's 34 and patson daka is just not getting any chances ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ what happened to marti cifuentes though? i mean he did good things at qpr but does leicester really need someone who's never managed in the prem before? ๐Ÿ˜’

man... leicester city has gone from being this dark horse title winner to basically struggling for survival ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. i mean, where did all that magic go? jordan ayew can't replace jamie vardy, patson daka's just not scoring for his life ๐Ÿค” and carranza is like the mystery man... or maybe he should be, 'cause nobody knows what to do with him ๐Ÿ˜…. marti cifuentes' appointment was always gonna be a risk, but come on, leicester, how far have you fallen? ๐Ÿ‘Ž they need to sort out their financials and figure out how to get some decent strikers in ASAP or else relegation's gonna be the least of their worries ๐Ÿšจ.
