A man survived a devastating tornado by riding out the storm inside his pest control van. The EF-3 twister tore through Pulaski and Lonoke counties in Arkansas, bringing estimated peak winds of 165 miles per hour that left one person dead in North Little Rock and four more fatalities in Wynne.

According to Cody Coombes, who rode out the tornado safely inside his van, the storm was "absolute chaos" as it tore through the area. The National Weather Service reported that the tornado caused widespread destruction, with winds so strong they were able to uproot trees and strip roofs from houses.

The footage of the terrifying ordeal shows Coombes crouched down in the driver's seat of his van, which appeared to provide some protection from the extreme winds. As the storm raged on outside, Coombes described the experience as "like nothing I've ever been through before."

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud roar and seeing debris flying through the air as the tornado tore through the area. The storm's devastating impact was captured on camera by emergency responders and residents who witnessed the chaos.

OMG, can you even imagine being in that situation? I mean, I'm glad Cody made it out alive, but what a wild ride! 🤯 His van must have been literally the only safe thing around at that point. And to think he was driving when this all went down... talk about staying calm under pressure. The footage is crazy, it's like something from a movie. It's all good that he was safe and sound, but like, what's next? Are people gonna be riding around in their vans during wildfires too? Or maybe during floods? I don't think so. It's just not practical or safe, you know? We need to get some better warning systems and emergency shelters in place instead of relying on our personal vehicles as a last resort 🚨
