Country Music Star Megan Moroney Breaks Record for Third Time, "6 Months Later" Soars to Top 10
Megan Moroney has once again proven her dominance in the country music scene, cracking the top 10 of Billboard's Country Airplay chart for a third time. Her song "6 Months Later", which she co-wrote with Rob Hatch, David Mescon and Ben Williams, rose 11-10 on the chart dated November 22, with an audience of 18.3 million people.
Moroney, who is from Georgia, has been making waves in country music since her debut entry "Tennessee Orange" reached No. 4 in June 2023. Her song "Am I Okay?" hit No. 2 in June this year, and now "6 Months Later" is bringing her back to the Country Airplay top 10 just shy of six months later.
Moroney's success ties her with Ella Langley for the second-most top 10s among women, although Lainey Wilson still holds the record with five. Other notable artists who have achieved this feat include Priscilla Block, Ashley Cooke, Dasha, Jessie Murph, Carly Pearce, and Carrie Underwood.
Moroney's two songs on the latest chart, "6 Months Later" and "Beautiful Things", are set to appear on her upcoming third studio album, Cloud 9, due out February 20. Additionally, Cody Johnson and The Rockin' CJB have arrived at No. 57 on Country Airplay with their cover of The Chicks' "Travelin' Soldier".
