Phillies stay or go: Reader poll results

Phillies Face Off Against Front Office in Postseason Poll

Philadelphia Phillies fans are putting their two cents on the team's offseason decisions, with a majority opting to part ways with some key players. The results of a reader poll reveal that manager Rob Thomson may not have a place at the helm come 2026, as 54% of respondents believe the team made the wrong decision in committing to his contract.

President Dave Dombrowski, on the other hand, has garnered significant support from fans, with an overwhelming 76.4% backing him for another season. The front office's handling of player moves also seems to be well-received, with Kyle Schwarber receiving only 57.5% of votes to return.

The Phillies' pitching staff is another area where opinions are divided. Ranger Suárez, who recently left as a free agent, has 71% support for his re-signing. In contrast, Taijuan Walker's $18 million contract next season is not looking good, with 78% of fans wanting him gone.

Outfielders Nick Castellanos and Max Kepler are also at odds with the fanbase, but to different extents - 93% want Castellanos out, while a mere 10% think Kepler should be let go. Alec Bohm and Harrison Bader, meanwhile, have 56% and 79%, respectively, of support for their departure.

The Phillies' bench players also received mixed reviews, with Edmundo Sosa and Rafael Marchán garnering significant support, but Garrett Stubbs, Weston Wilson, and Johan Rojas falling out of favor.

Ultimately, the results of this poll paint a picture of a team that is looking to make some changes in the offseason. Whether those changes will be successful remains to be seen, but one thing is clear - Phillies fans are ready for something new.

I'm kinda surprised by how divided the fanbase is about the current team roster. On one hand, it's awesome that President Dombrowski is getting so much support – he really does seem like a great leader who's putting the team first 🤝. But at the same time, I get why fans are skeptical about some of the moves made this offseason... like, 54% think manager Thomson might not be the right guy for the job? That's a pretty significant chunk of support to say something is wrong.

And what's up with Kyle Schwarber getting only 57.5% support for returning? I mean, I get it, he had a decent season last year, but fans are just like "meh" about him 🤷‍♂️. Meanwhile, Ranger Suárez is getting an insane amount of love (71% support) – must be because he's still got that "ace" vibe going on 💥.

It'll be interesting to see how this all shakes out in the offseason. One thing's for sure: Phillies fans are not afraid to speak their minds 🗣️!

I'm kinda surprised by how harshly some folks are trashing Castellanos, tbh 🤔. I mean, he's had a decent season and his defense is solid. And yeah, Kepler might've had some off days, but let's not forget his power numbers 🏆. I think the team should just try to make room for him instead of shipping him out entirely. Maybe they could even get another bat in return? 🤔

I think it's pretty clear what Philly fans want – they're over manager Rob Thomson after signing him to a big contract. On the other hand, I'm kinda surprised how much love President Dave Dombrowski is getting from fans, but I guess that makes sense considering he was with the team for so long.

I also think Kyle Schwarber got it easy with 57.5% of votes – like, who doesn't want him back? The pitching staff is another story though. Ranger Suárez has a ton of support, which makes me wonder if Dombrowski really made the right call in letting him go. But honestly, I'm just curious to see what the team does this offseason.

OMG 🤯 i think the phillies front office needs 2 listen 2 their fans!! david dombrowski is gettin a lot of love lol 76.4% is CRAZY!!! maybe thomas wasnt the best fit 4 them tho 🤔 ranger suarez is def makin some noise w/ his re-signing tho! and omg taijuan walker? 😂 78% wanna see him go!! nick castellanos is totes gone, but max kepler can stay 🤗 the bench players tho? idk bout edmundo & rafael, they got some love 😊 but garrett & weston? lol 👋 i guess we'll c wut happens in 2026 🤞

I'm so down with the idea of letting Rob Thomson go 🤔... no wait, I'm totally against it 💪! I mean, he did lead the team to a playoff spot last season, and we can't just write him off that easily 😕. But on the other hand, Dave Dombrowski has been doing a pretty good job with the front office moves 🤓... except for the whole Kyle Schwarber situation 🙄. I'm so over his contract already 💸! And those pitching staff decisions? Forget about it 🚫... Ranger Suárez is due for another chance, and Taijuan Walker needs to be benched 🔥. Oh, and Nick Castellanos should totally be gone 🚮! Unless... unless the team wants to try out some new guys 🤷‍♂️. I'm all for change in Philly, as long as it doesn't ruin the momentum from last season 📉

The fanbase is always gonna have an opinion 🤔. I think it's cool how the poll highlights who's doing well and who needs some TLC on the bench. It'll be interesting to see if the front office takes notes from this and makes some changes that'll get fans more stoked for next season ⚾️. But, at the end of the day, it's all about winning games and having fun in Philly... as long as they can keep bringing in some new talent 🎉.

🤔 I'm actually kinda surprised at how much the fans hate on manager Rob Thomson's contract... 54%? That's like saying 60% of you guys think he sucks 🙅‍♂️ But hey, if the front office wants to part ways, that's their call. On the other hand, I don't get why everyone's so down on Dave Dombrowski - 76.4% of support? That's crazy! He seems like a solid leader in my eyes 👊

I'm lovin' how passionate Philly fans are about their team! It's awesome to see them share their opinions and concerns about the offseason moves 🤩. I mean, 76.4% backing President Dombrowski? That's a lot of trust in his leadership skills 💪. And 93% wanting Nick Castellanos out? Well, I guess that says a lot about his performance this season 😐.

But you know what? These polls are like a breath of fresh air for the team! They're giving the front office some valuable feedback and holding them accountable 📊. It's all about making changes to improve the team and bring in more wins 🏆. And who knows, maybe they'll surprise us all and make some magical moves 🔮. Can't wait to see what the offseason brings 💥!

🤔 This poll sounds kinda fishy to me... like we're being presented with a biased sample of fans who are already unhappy with the team's decisions 🤷‍♂️. I mean, 54% say Rob Thomson should go? That's not exactly a majority when you consider how much support he got from some fans 🤔. And what about all these polls that come out around this time every year? Are they just trying to generate buzz or something? 📰

I'm reading all about it 🤔... 76.4% backing Dave Dombrowski? That's crazy! I don't get why fans would trust him so much after the way things went down this season... but I guess that's what makes me a lurker, not an insider 😅. The fact that some of these players are still under contract is pretty wild. I mean, Kyle Schwarber's only got 57.5% support? That seems kinda low to me... or maybe it just shows how much fans want to move on from last year 🤷‍♂️. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the offseason - hoping they make some smart moves and we'll actually see some progress next season 💪

The front office thinks they can just slap a contract on anyone and get away with it? 🤑 Not buying it. Dombrowski's approval rating is insane, like he's the golden child or something. And what's up with these fan opinions being so divided? It's like they're all saying the same thing, but with different names.

🤔 Phillies fans are really showing their dissatisfaction with the way things went down this offseason 🚫💔. 54% think Rob Thomson shouldn't have gotten that contract extension? 😲 And who can blame them, considering how some other teams made huge moves to shake up their rosters 💪. The front office is taking it on the chin though 🤦‍♂️, with most fans backing President Dombrowski 🙌. Some players are getting let go 👋 and new faces might be what this team needs to stay competitive 🔥. Maybe 2026 will bring some much-needed changes 💡?

I don't know, man... I get that people are unhappy about some of the moves the front office made, but all or nothin' isn't the way to go 🤔. Some players just aren't working out and it's better to move on, rather than trying to make something work that's just not there. And hey, if Rob Thomson is feeling the heat because of one bad season, maybe he just needs a bit more time to figure things out? At least Dave Dombrowski has some fans behind him, which is good to see 💕. Maybe we can all just take a deep breath and trust that the Phillies will make the right moves for next year... 🤞
