‘Therapuss’ Podcaster Jake Shane to Star In Hulu Comedy Project Based on His Own Life (EXCLUSIVE)

Jake Shane, the popular host of "Therapuss," is set to star in a Hulu half-hour comedy series based on his own life. The show, currently in development at 20th TV, will follow Jake and his friends as they navigate the challenges of online fame and its impact on their relationships and community.

Executive produced by Genevieve Aniello ("Hacks") and Paul Briganti ("Saturday Night Live"), the pilot is being written by Shane, Aniello, and Briganti. The show is a comedy that will tackle themes such as social media pressure, friendship, and suburban life.

Shane's own podcast, "Therapuss with Jake Shane," has become one of the top shows on Spotify, featuring guests like Tate McRae, Renee Rapp, and Joe Jonas. His recent tour, "Live With Jake Shane," visited 36 cities across North America, including a stop at Radio City Music Hall.

In addition to his podcasting career, Shane is also releasing new comedy content. His latest album, "Puss & Poems," features 13 tracks that he wrote and produced with Alexander 23. The album debuted on Billboard's comedy chart and has solidified Shane's status as a rising star in the world of comedy.

Shane will be reprising his recurring role from the TV show "Hacks" for this new project, which marks an exciting opportunity for him to showcase his talents in both podcasting and live performance. With the support of top talent like Aniello and Briganti, Jake Shane's next venture is sure to captivate audiences and cement his place as one of the most innovative voices in comedy today.

I'm low-key excited about this new project 😂. I mean, who wouldn't want to see Jake Shane's take on navigating online fame? I think it's gonna be hilarious 🤣 especially with all the relatable moments for people like me who are constantly swiping through socials. The fact that he gets to bring his podcasting career and live performances into one show is a win in my book 💯. Can't wait to see how this whole thing plays out and if it lives up to the hype 😁.

🤔 I'm not entirely convinced this show is going to be a hit. I mean, we already have "Therapuss" on Spotify, which is basically the same concept but on audio format. Is this just an excuse for Hulu to buy up another podcasting star? 🤑 Don't get me wrong, Jake Shane's got some good material, but can it translate to TV? And what's the point of a half-hour show if it's just going to follow him and his friends around? Where's the real comedy gold in that? 😐

I think it's awesome that Jake Shane is getting another platform to share his humor and personality with the world 🤣! I mean, who doesn't love a good laugh? And the fact that he's working with some big names like Genevieve Aniello and Paul Briganti is just a bonus 🎉. Plus, it's cool that he gets to play himself in the show, so we get to see more of his hilarious behind-the-scenes moments 😂. I'm also loving that the show is tackling real issues like social media pressure and suburban life - it's not all just about being funny, you know? 🤓

OMG you guys 🤯, I am SOOO excited about this new Hulu show! Jake Shane is already a rockstar with "Therapuss" and I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a show based on his own life? It's like having the inside scoop on what it's really like to be an online sensation. 🤔

I'm loving the fact that he's not just doing this alone, though - Genevieve Aniello and Paul Briganti are producing it, so we can bet it's gonna be good! And let's be real, who wouldn't want to watch a show about social media pressure, friendship, and suburban life? It sounds like the perfect blend of relatable and hilarious. 😂

And can I just say, Jake Shane's been killing it with his podcast and live shows - I've listened to "Therapuss" on Spotify like 5 times already 🎧. And have you heard his new album? The guy is a comedic genius! 💥 So yeah, this show is gonna be EVERYTHING and more.

One thing I am curious about though, will the show tackle some of the more serious issues that come with online fame? Like, mental health and stuff 🤔.

OMG 🤯 I'm low-key excited for this new show! Jake Shane's already a pro at podcasting and performing, so it'll be sick to see him tackle these themes in a more traditional TV format 💼. The fact that he's getting support from people like Genevieve Aniello and Paul Briganti is awesome – they're like the comedy gods 👑. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a show about online fame and suburban life? It's all so relatable 🤷‍♀️. But what do you guys think? Are you stoked for Jake Shane's new project? 😁

🤔 I'm kinda excited about this new project with Jake Shane, but also a bit skeptical. Like, have we seen enough episodes of his podcast already? 📻 And how will they balance the comedy and relatability without making it feel like he's just sharing his own life story? 😬 Still, with Genevieve Aniello and Paul Briganti on board, I'm hoping for something fresh and funny. And hey, who doesn't love a good show about navigating online fame? 💻 The fact that he gets to bring some of his podcast vibes to the small screen could be really interesting...
