A Longwood Christmas returns to Kennett Square with a gemstone-inspired holiday display

Longwood Gardens is once again transforming into a winter wonderland for the holiday season with its popular display, A Longwood Christmas. Set to return from November 21, 2025, through January 11, 2026, the event promises to be a dazzling spectacle of color and light.

This year's theme, "A Gem of a Holiday Season," takes inspiration from precious stones, with glittering trees adorned in shades of blue, red, green, and gold. Crystal ornaments, luxurious fabrics, and gemstone-like lighting add an extra layer of sparkle to the already stunning display.

The Music Room is a particular highlight, featuring a towering 12-foot tree that rises from a replica jewelry box, complete with a sweeping ruby-red bow on top. The room's mirrors and metallic accents reflect light beautifully, while mineral specimens from the Delaware Museum of Nature and Science add a touch of natural beauty to the space.

Beyond the indoor displays, Longwood Gardens' outdoor spaces are transformed into a winter wonderland. More than 500,000 twinkling lights illuminate trees, floating gem shapes on the Large Lake, and even the Wildlife Tree, which is adorned with gilded oyster shells and natural grains for birds and woodland animals.

Other crowd-pleasers include the Meadow Tunnel of Lights and Garden Railway, as well as daily fountain shows set to holiday music. Visitors can also warm up in the Beer Garden or enjoy a festive meal at the 1906 restaurant, while kids can indulge in the Taste of Christmas buffet at The Fountain Room.

Admission tickets must be reserved in advance, with adults paying $45 and youth ages 5-18 paying $25. Tickets are available now on longwoodgardens.org.

For one more season, Longwood Gardens will be a place to experience the magic of the holiday season. Don't miss out on this sparkling spectacle that promises to leave visitors enchanted until January 11, 2026.

Ugh, I know some ppl r gonna kill me 4 sayin this but I'm soooo over long winter displays 🤯 every year its like we r stuck in a never endin snow globe... cant we just have a chill holiday season for once lol? 🎄 anyway, Longwood Gardens looks amazin as always, can't wait to see the twinklin lights & festive vibes 🌟

You know, it's like when you think about all these displays and lights coming together... it makes me wonder, what is it about light that can evoke such a sense of magic and wonder? Like, we're surrounded by this coldness outside, but in here, we've got warmth and color. It's like our own little bubble of joy. 🌟 And I think that's what Longwood Gardens is trying to do - create this bubble of enchantment where people can forget about their troubles for a little while. But at the same time, it also makes me think... how long can we sustain this illusion? How long can we keep ourselves enchanted before reality comes crashing back in? 🤔

🌿✨ gotta say, i'm low-key hyped for longwood gardens' christmas display again this year 🎄💫 their use of twinkling lights and colorful ornaments is always so on point 🤩 and that music room with the giant ruby-red tree sounds like a total fave spot to chill out ☕️ what's not to love about sipping hot cocoa while surrounded by all that sparkle and shine ✨

I'm so down for another magical A Longwood Christmas 🎄! I mean, who doesn't love getting lost in a winter wonderland filled with twinkling lights and stunning displays? The idea of it being like a precious gem, you know? Like a really cool diamond or sapphire that's just radiating beauty. And I'm totally intrigued by the Music Room - 12-foot tree? Ruby-red bow? Sounds like something out of a holiday movie! 🎥

But what I love most is how they've transformed both indoors and outdoors to create this immersive experience. The twinkling lights on the trees, floating gem shapes... it's like stepping into a fantasy world. And can we talk about the Beer Garden? Who wouldn't want to warm up with a festive drink while taking in all the magic? It sounds like Longwood Gardens is really going all out this year and I am HERE for it! 🍺
