Apple Podcasts set to revolutionize the way we experience and interact with podcasts, introducing two game-changing features that will make your listening experience more immersive.
In an update expected to roll out in iOS 26.2, currently in developer beta testing, Apple Podcasts will introduce automatically-generated chapters for shows released in English. This feature aims to improve user engagement by breaking up lengthy episodes into digestible chunks, making it easier for listeners to navigate and find specific sections of their favorite podcasts.
Furthermore, creators will now have the option to add links at specific timestamps within their episodes, creating a seamless listening experience that allows users to easily access additional content or explore related topics. Moreover, timed links may also be added automatically whenever creators mention another podcast, making it easier for listeners to discover new shows and creators.
Creators will be able to opt-out of these features if they prefer not to use them. Automatically generated chapters will be marked as such above an episode's chapter list.
The update is similar in nature to Spotify's auto-generated chapters feature that was rolled out earlier this year.
