Local Sports Icon to Bring High-End Dining Experience to Valley Forge Casino Resort
Charles Barkley, a legendary figure in Philadelphia sports, is set to open a premium dining establishment and cigar lounge at Valley Forge Casino Resort, further cementing the King of Prussia casino's position as a top entertainment destination.
As part of a partnership with Boyd Gaming, the casino's parent company, Barkley will be playing an active role in shaping the new ventures. According to the sports icon, "The Philadelphia area has always felt like home to me and I'm thrilled to bring something new to a community that's played such a big part in my life."
Rendering of the steakhouse reveal sleek, modern interior with abstract art pieces adorning the walls and elaborate light fixtures hanging over dining tables. Moreover, references to Barkley's 16-year NBA career will also be displayed. A cigar lounge adjacent to the restaurant is set to feature dozens of humidors lining its walls, private lockers, and a full bar creating an exclusive atmosphere.
While the names of the steakhouse and cigar lounge have not been disclosed, further details on their opening timeline remain under wraps for now. "Plans are still under development and further details will be shared at a later time," said Michelle Conron, vice president and chief of staff at Cashman & Associates.
However, Boyd Gaming has announced that it will make annual contributions to the Charles Barkley Foundation, which funds education initiatives for Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The company also established a partnership with Redmont Distilling Co., Barkley's liquor brand.
This new development comes as Valley Forge Casino Resort is undergoing a multi-million dollar upgrade, including renovations to its 253-room Stardust Tower hotel and the opening of a comedy club. The casino floor will also undergo redesigns as part of the project, marking another significant investment in the King of Prussia entertainment scene.
