I'm literally so stoked about this study! I mean, who wouldn't want to think that dinosaurs were still roaming around for another 350k years? It's like, we always knew they're cool and all, but now we have proof that they were still kickin' it big time. And can you believe the diversity of species across North America during this period? I mean, who needs a simple story when you've got complexities and regional differences right in front of us? It's like, scientists are always trying to uncover the truth, and this study is just the beginning of an epic adventure into dinosaur history!
Ugh, I'm so over how Science is still using those clunky old publication dates . Can't they just use a timestamp or something? It's 2025, after all! And what's with the lack of video evidence to go along with this study? A rock formation isn't exactly a slam dunk proof that dinosaurs were thriving until the end... I mean, come on, guys . Still, I guess it's cool that they found some new insights into dinosaur diversity and all that jazz . But can we please just make these studies more accessible to the average person? I feel like I need a degree in paleontology to even understand what's going on here .
OMG u guys i just read about dis new study in science & im literally shook they found out dinosaurs were still alive like 350k yrs before the asteroid hit! i cant even imagine how cool it must have been to see them roaming around. its so crazy cuz we always thought they just went extinct suddenly but now its like they were just chillin until the very end anyway i was thinking maybe the climate had somethin to do with it? i mean, we know how weather patterns work and stuff, so idk if thats possible but its def a theory lol
the asteroid thing is still not set in stone lol , i mean what if it was just a really bad flu season for dinos instead? and btw those regional differences dont exactly reassure me that they werent dying off left and right... its all about perspective fam...
idk what to think about this study , but it's kinda cool that they found out dinosaurs were still kickin' at 350k yrs before the asteroid hit , maybe they just needed a little more time to adapt? and yeah, it's wild that the rock formation has argon isotopes that match up with the asteroid impact timeline
I'm totally stoked about this study! I mean, who wouldn't want to challenge the classic asteroid hypothesis? It's like, our understanding of history is always changing, right? And can you imagine being a paleontologist back then, discovering these awesome fossils and trying to figure out what happened? The idea that dinosaurs were still kicking it until 350,000 years before the asteroid hit is just mind-blowing. I love how this study highlights the diversity of species across North America too β like, think about all those different T-Rex-like predators! And yeah, maybe Prof. Benton's got a point about the focus on one location, but I think this study is still a major game-changer for dinosaur research.
I'm also really curious to see how this changes our understanding of climate change and its impact on ecosystems. Was it just a coincidence that dinosaurs went extinct during a period of significant change in the Earth's climate? And what does this mean for our own planet, where we're seeing some pretty wild weather patterns right now? The more we learn about dinosaur extinction, the more I think we need to be thinking about how to protect our own species and ecosystems. This study is a major wake-up call!
