Dutch centrists D66 back in lead in election vote count, edging past far-right PVV – as it happened

The article reports on the results of the Dutch parliamentary election held on October 30, 2025. The far-right PVV party of anti-immigration firebrand Geert Wilders is narrowly ahead of the centrist D66 with 99.6% votes counted. However, the difference between the two parties is just under 1,400 votes, and many more are still yet to be counted.

The article notes that it symbolically matters whether PVV or D66 will come out on top but suggests that the centrist party with their charismatic leader, Rob Jetten, is likely to lead the talks to form the next government. All major mainstream parties have ruled out governing with Wilders after he brought down the last coalition led by his PVV.

The article mentions that the coalition talks are widely expected to take months before the new administration emerges and that the official announcement of the final result is expected next week. It also quotes outgoing Prime Minister Dick Schoof, who hopes the coalition talks will be wrapped up by August next year.

Overall, the article provides a detailed overview of the Dutch parliamentary election results and the implications for the formation of the next government.

The Netherlands is going through some big changes 💥. I'm not sure what to make of this election result yet, but it's clear that Geert Wilders is still a wild card 🃏. One thing that does worry me though is how these coalition talks are going to play out - months to form a government? That's just too long ⏱️. But at the same time, I think Rob Jetten and D66 have got this 💪. They've built some strong relationships with other parties, so maybe they can make it happen sooner rather than later 🕰️. It'll be interesting to see how things shake out in the end - will Wilders finally get his chance at power? Or will he remain on the periphery of politics forever? Only time (and more votes) will tell 😉.

🤯 so the dutch are voting in this crazy far-right guy geert wilders and it's getting super close between him and that centrist dude rob jetten. i'm kinda surprised d66 is still in the lead, but idk maybe it's 'cause people wanna see some stability after the previous gov 😅 anyway, looks like coalition talks are gonna take ages - months? 🤯 can't believe dick schoof wants to wrap them up by august tho 🕰️ hope they get something done soon!

🤔 so its crazy how politics can get so intense right? i mean geert wilders is like this anti-immigration dude who's super polarizing 🌎 anyways so he's got 99.6% of the votes and it feels like d66 is going to be next govt leader lol 🙃 but seriously tho what a huge margin of just under 1400 votes between them 🤯 is that even enough votes to change the outcome? 🤔

man... think about it 🤯 1,400 votes difference is crazy! if d66 can keep their lead they'll prob have more clout in forming gov next. wilders gonna be stuck on the sidelines tho 😒

I'm totally surprised that PVV is ahead of D66 🤯. I mean, I've been saying for ages that Wilders would get creamed in an election like this. The whole "anti-immigration" thing just can't be a winning ticket anymore 🙄. And now they're already saying that the coalition talks will take months? Like, what's new? Politicians always make deals at the last minute 😏. Rob Jetten is definitely not charismatic enough to lead them to power – I bet he'll get eaten alive by the Dutch voters 🤣.

🤔 I'm shocked that PVV won by just 1,400 votes... I mean, who needs a mandate when you've got a strong message against immigration 🙄. And it's so symbolic that D66 is leading in the end... because, you know, symbolism matters 💁‍♀️. Rob Jetten and his party are probably the clear winner since they're not "Wilders-style" controversial 🔥. I wonder if Wilders will be able to form a coalition with anyone 🤷‍♂️. Months of talks ahead? Sounds like Wilders is going to get stuck in coalition hell 🔜. And can we please just get on with it by August next year? It's getting old waiting for these Dutch elections 😴.

🤔 So I'm watching this Dutch parliamentary election thingy and I gotta say, it's like, super close! PVV is basically neck and neck with D66, which is kinda weird 'cause you'd think they're like polar opposites or something. And now that they're basically tied by only 1400 votes, I mean what's gonna happen next?

It's pretty interesting 'cause Rob Jetten from D66 seems to be in the lead for these coalition talks and it's like, everyone else is kinda hesitant to work with Wilders after what he did last time. So maybe this could actually change things up a bit for Netherlands?

But honestly, I don't know how long this whole process gonna take... months? August next year? That's like, forever! And I'm just sitting here thinking, what if this coalition talk thingy gets stuck in neutral and no one can figure out who leads the government?

I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but one thing for sure is that Netherlands is about to get some serious drama! 🤯

Ugh I'm so done with this Wilders dude 🙄 he's just going to bring more division and hate to Netherlands I mean what's the point of having a party that's all about restricting immigration and being anti-friendliness towards others? it's like they're trying to make life harder for everyone else D66 is my go-to party they seem way more reasonable and down-to-earth...anyway, this election just shows how polarized Netherlands has become 🤯

I'm like totally feeling the uncertainty vibes about this Dutch parliamentary election 🤯. I mean, it's not even close between PVV and D66, but you can still feel the drama coming from Geert Wilders' camp 😏. And Rob Jetten is just a total dream leader, no? The centrist party is all about finding that sweet middle ground, which is exactly what the Netherlands needs right now 🌎.

I'm also kinda rooting for D66 to lead the talks because they seem like the adult in the room, you know? They're not as extreme as PVV and Rob Jetten seems to have a way with words, which is a total game-changer in coalition talks 💬. Months of negotiations ahead? Bring it on! At least we'll finally get some clarity on who's leading the Netherlands 🤞.

I'm low-key surprised that PVV is still in the lead with D66, gotta think if it wasnt for their centrist stance they would've probably won by a landslide lol 👀😂. I mean, Geert Wilders and his party have been making waves for years now but their anti-immigration policies are super divisive. I think it's time we see more parties coming together to form a government that truly represents the Dutch people 🤝. And Rob Jetten leading the talks? That's a great move btw, D66's got some solid ideas on how to make NL more inclusive and progressive 💡

Man, I'm surprised it's coming down to the wire like this in the Netherlands 🤯. You know how things were back in 2010 when they had all those coalition talks? It was like a soap opera, but at least then there were parties that actually wanted to work together 💁‍♂️. Now it seems like everyone's just waiting for Geert Wilders to step aside... which is weird, because I thought he'd be the one leading the charge by now 🤔. Rob Jetten, on the other hand, seems like a solid guy – reminds me of Justin Trudeau from back in the Harper days 👍. Either way, months of negotiations? That's just crazy talk 🙄!

I'm surprised PVV came so close 😐 they're not used to people taking them seriously. I think it's kinda interesting that Rob Jetten from D66 is being considered for the lead role, he seems like a more down-to-earth guy than Wilders. But honestly, whoever leads the coalition talks next, I hope they can get something done about those congestion charges in Amsterdam 🚗💨

I'm thinking... 1,400 votes is like, a tiny difference 🤔. So close! I wonder what's gonna happen in those coalition talks 🤞. I mean, PVV or D66, who knows? Maybe Wilders will surprise everyone again 😱. But honestly, Rob Jetten seems like the leader to do it 👍. Can't wait to see how this all plays out 💬.
