Philadelphia Eagles and Jason Kelce's Underdog Apparel Partner with Local Designers for Charity T-Shirts
The Philadelphia Eagles and Jason Kelce's clothing company, Underdog Apparel, have teamed up with three local designers to create exclusive Birds gear that will raise money for a good cause. The new designs are now available at the team's pro shops at Lincoln Financial Field, as well as online on Underdog's website.
Eric "HeavySlime" Kenney, an artist known for his distinctive style featured in HBO's Delco crime drama "Task", has created a graphic that showcases HeavySlime's signature skeleton wearing a Super Bowl ring. The design also includes the words "Eagles" printed in a retro font reminiscent of the team's Kelly green era, with the slogan "Bury the Doubt" urging fans to believe in the team's chances of repeating as champions.
According to Kenney, this collaboration is gratifying, especially since he was approached by Underdog and the Eagles over the summer about creating merchandise for charity. He believes that the partnership will be successful due to the good cause it supports - the Be Philly Foundation, an organization co-founded by Kelce that raises money for charities supporting public schools in Philadelphia.
Another designer, Paul Granese, has created a crewneck shirt featuring a bald eagle clutching the team's Kelly green helmet. Granese also designed a hoodie with retro Eagles graphics on both the front and back. This is Granese's first collaboration with Underdog Apparel, but his brand, Cracked Bell PHL, features graphics representing Philly sports teams and local lore.
Local folk painter and sculptor Kees Holterman has created a shirt featuring a small Eagles logo on the front and mascot Swoop climbing out of Lincoln Financial Field on the back.
Kelce expressed excitement about partnering with Underdog Apparel to sell exclusive merchandise directly from his team. According to him, all T-shirts will be made in the US and designed and printed in Philadelphia.
