so i think zohran mamdani is sending a pretty clear message to the private equity firms in new york
. they're basically saying "hey, we know you guys have been causing some issues with rents and healthcare, and now we're watching your moves closely". it's not like he's going to be able to directly take on these companies or anything, but by having lina khan on his team, he's at least trying to bring some transparency to the table
. and if mamdani can get this stuff implemented at the municipal level, it could actually make a big difference for people who are struggling with rising rents
. plus, with khan's experience from her time at the FTC, i think he might be able to make some real changes happen
