Melissa Andreatta's 'hungry' Scotland face Belgium, Israel & Luxembourg in World Cup qualifying

Scotland's women's national team will face a tough challenge in their World Cup qualifying campaign, with a group that includes Belgium, Israel, and Luxembourg. The squad has been boosted by the return of Real Madrid midfielder Marina Piccone and defender Emma-Jane Staniforth.

Coach Melissa Andreatta described her team as "hungry" for success after being drawn into Group B4. She believes that Scotland's desire to make their nation proud will be a key factor in their campaign, adding: "It makes it much more real."

Andreatta also praised the unity and strength of her squad, describing them as a "team first" group. She stated: "Anything's possible with this group and I'll never write off any Scottish team or Scottish athlete because I think sometimes that's when the best comes out of us."

Scotland will need to come through a play-off campaign if they are to claim a place in the 2027 World Cup, as they are in League B. The first round of the two-legged play-off is scheduled for October 2026.

Belgium have been drawn into the same group as Scotland, but Andreatta believes that her team's preparation will be impacted by their history with the Belgians. "I think that does help, but what we need to remember too, every team is making progress in the women's game," she said.

Israel have won promotion back to League B after a successful campaign, and Scotland hold an 8-0 head-to-head record against them. The two teams last met in European Championship qualifying in June 2024, with Scotland winning 5-0 in Hungary.

Luxembourg will be playing their first ever match against Scotland. Dan Santos' side won promotion to League B after finishing their group unbeaten ahead of Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Liechtenstein.

The draw for the World Cup has been met with optimism from fans, who believe that a strong team spirit and determination will carry Scotland through to the final stages of qualifying.

OMG 🀯 I'm like super excited about this new World Cup qualifying campaign in Group B4! πŸ˜† Scotland's squad looks so solid with Marina Piccone and Emma-Jane Staniforth back in action, it's gonna be a banger ⚽️! Coach Andreatta is all about that team-first vibe, which I think will give them an edge. 🀝 But seriously, the draw isn't easy – Belgium and Israel are no joke πŸ’β€β™€οΈ. Still, Scotland's got this squad hunger for success πŸ”₯, so fingers crossed they'll pull off some sick wins! 🀞 And a play-off campaign in 2027? Bring it on πŸ’ͺ!

I'm low-key worried about Scotland's chances in the World Cup πŸ€”. Group B4 is looking fierce, what with Belgium, Israel, and Luxembourg all gunning for them. But you know what? I think Scotland's got this πŸ’ͺ! The return of Marina Piccone and Emma-Jane Staniforth will definitely give 'em a boost, and Melissa Andreatta seems like a total boss coach - she knows exactly how to get her squad pumped up πŸ†.

It's all about team spirit, though. If they can keep that unity thing going, I'm sure they'll be just fine 😊. And let's not forget, Scotland's got an 8-0 head-to-head against Israel - talk about confidence πŸ’₯! It's gonna be a wild ride, but I'm rooting for the Tartan Army all the way πŸ΄πŸ”΅!

man... think about it... Scotland's squad is "hungry" for success, but what does that even mean? Are they just driven by external validation or do they genuinely have a desire to succeed on their own terms? coach Andreatta talks about how her team being in the same group as Belgium might impact their preparation, but isn't that just making excuses? and then there's Israel - 8-0 head-to-head record, that's some pretty convincing dominance. but what does it say about Scotland's approach to the game? are they playing for pride or is it all just about getting that one win? and what about Luxembourg, playing their first ever match against Scotland... do we underestimate them because of that?

Ugh, I'm not exactly thrilled about this one πŸ€”. A group with Belgium, Israel, and Luxembourg is like throwing a bunch of curveballs at them - they'll need to be on their game every single match. And don't even get me started on the play-off campaign 🚨... that's just more uncertainty and pressure for the team. Coach Andreatta's optimism is nice and all, but let's not forget that teams often rise to challenges when they're expected to fail πŸ˜’. I'm keeping my expectations low, tbh πŸ’”

Omg I'm so hyped for Scotland's women's national team! 🀩 They've got an amazing squad with Marina Piccone and Emma-Jane Staniforth back in action πŸ’ͺ, and coach Melissa Andreatta is all about that 'team first' vibe πŸ‘«. The fact that they're hungry for success after being drawn into this tough group (Belgium, Israel, and Luxembourg!) makes me think they've got what it takes to go all the way 🀯! Belgium might be a challenge, but I'm sure Andreatta's squad will come out on top πŸ’ͺ. The fact that Scotland has an 8-0 head-to-head record against Israel is not something to underestimate either πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ! Fingers crossed for our lassies and let's hope they make it to the World Cup in 2027 🌟

I'm not buying it πŸ€”... this whole squad's unity thing sounds like some clichΓ© marketing ploy to me πŸ˜’. I mean, come on, a "team first" mentality is just a fancy way of saying they're all in it for personal glory and national pride πŸ†. Andreaetta thinks that Scotland's desire to make their nation proud will be the key to success? That's just lazy thinking if you ask me πŸ˜‚. What about some real tactics, strategy, and depth? It sounds like they're just relying on good vibes and a healthy dose of luck 🀞.

And let's not forget the group stage itself – we've got Belgium, Israel, and Luxembourg all vying for attention πŸ‘€. Those opponents are gonna give them a run for their money no doubt about it πŸ’ͺ. I'm not convinced that Scotland's chances are as bright as everyone's making them out to be 🌞. The play-off campaign is just around the corner, and I'll believe they've got this when they actually start winning some games πŸ“Š...

I think its gonna be super tough for Scotland but at same time their squad looks really hungry and united they got real chances πŸ€”πŸ’ͺ Scotland's been in this situation before but never made it out of group stage so i hope they learn from that πŸ’― if belgium has some bad feeling against them then scotland can use that to there advantage 🀝

Their coach Melissa Andreatta seems like really cool person and her quotes about team spirit are all i can read right now 😍 "team first" is just the best thing ever ❀️

Scotland's got a tough road ahead, but at least they'll be up against some pretty decent teams too, like Belgium and Israel. I'm thinking it's like trying to win a game of football with a bunch of strong opponents - you need to be prepared for anything! But seriously, coach Andreatta seems to know what she's talking about, saying the team is hungry for success... and who doesn't love underdogs? Scotland might not have an easy time, but I think it'll be a wild ride. πŸ€ͺπŸ†

I'm still thinking about this draw πŸ€”... Belgium's got some serious talent on their squad but I think we can give them a run for their money πŸ’ͺ🏻. And you know what? I'm actually feeling pretty confident about our head-to-head record against Israel 😎. We've been crushing it in the past and I don't see that changing anytime soon πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.

But, let's be real... Luxembourg is gonna be a wild card πŸ€”. They're all new to this level so who knows what we can expect? Maybe they'll surprise us with a win πŸ‘€... but I'm not holding my breath πŸ˜‚.

I do agree with Coach Andreatta about the unity and strength of our squad, though πŸ’•. We've got some amazing players and a team-first attitude that's gonna carry us through this campaign 🌟... fingers crossed! πŸ‘

πŸ€” I'm not sure about this one, but I think they got it right by makin' Belgium play in the same group as Scotland πŸ‡«πŸ‡·. I mean, those two teams have had some rough history on the pitch, especially with Scotland bein' like 8-0 up on 'em already πŸ˜…. But for real, I'm excited to see how Melissa Andreatta's squad comes together and gives it their all. The fact that they're hungry for success and want to make their nation proud is music to my ears 🎡. Of course, we gotta hope Scotland can stay focused and don't get too distracted by the history with Belgium or Israel πŸ˜‚. And let's be real, an 8-0 thrashin' of Luxembourg ain't gonna hurt neither 😜. Bring it on, Scotland! πŸ‘

I don't think this is going to be an easy campaign for Scotland πŸ€”. I mean, they're in Group B4 with Belgium, Israel, and Luxembourg... those teams are solid. Andreta's got high hopes, but let's not forget that playing a team with a strong head-to-head record like Israel can be tough πŸ’ͺ. Plus, if you ask me, Scotland's group stage draw is way more uncertain than people think πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. They'll have to pull out all the stops to take down Belgium and then maybe, just maybe, they'll make it through to the next round...

lol can u believe scotland got stuck in league b again πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ they gotta work on their game if they wanna make it to 2027 world cup πŸ˜… marina piccone and emma-jane staniforth returning is a big plus tho πŸ™Œ coach andreatta sounds like a true patriot, that "team first" vibe is exactly what scotland needs πŸ‘ but seriously, belgians and israelis gonna be a tough combo... πŸ’ͺ gotta see how they perform under pressure 😬

Stats show Scotland's squad value is around Β£10m πŸ€‘, but their performance in 2024 was way off - only scoring 25 goals in 12 games. Belgium's squad value is slightly higher at Β£15m πŸ’Έ, and they've been performing better too.

The fact that Emma-Jane Staniforth has returned from injury is a big boost for Scotland 🀞. But with the upcoming play-off campaign, will she be able to maintain her form? ⏰

Andreatta's team-first mentality might just pay off for them - they've got an impressive 8-0 head-to-head record against Israel πŸ“Š. However, Luxembourg will be a tough opponent in their debut match. This one's going to be interesting... πŸ”

🀞 so i think scotland's squad is lookin pretty solid rn πŸ† they've got some talented players comin back from injury, like marin piccone and emma-jane staniforth... it'll be tough in group b4 tho, with belgium and israel and luxembourg, but coach andreatta seems to know what she's doin πŸ’ͺ

i love that she's talkin about the squad being a "team first" kinda vibe, cos that's def key in the world cup 🌎 if they can stay focused and play together, i think they've got a shot at makin it through 🀞

πŸ€” this world cup draw is gonna be wild! i mean scotland's got a tough group but they've also got that fire in their bellies - coach andreatta said it herself, they're hungry for success and it makes everything real for them πŸ’ͺ what's most impressive is the unity among the squad, they seem like a real team effort 🀝 and let's not forget those head-to-head records with israel... scotland's gonna crush 'em πŸ”₯ but seriously, belgium's got some experience under their belt so we'll see how that plays out πŸ’¬

πŸ“ŠπŸ‘ Scotland's squad is looking solid, I mean we're talkin' 8-0 head-to-head against Israel 🀯. And let's not forget they've got some serious depth with Marina Piccone comin' back from Real Madrid ⚽️. But Group B4 is gonna be a real challenge, Belgium's been on fire, and Luxembourg just won promotion so that's a bonus πŸŽ‰.

πŸ“ˆπŸ’ͺ According to FIFA, the number of female players in Scotland has increased by 22% since 2019 πŸ’₯. And it's not just about the players, the team's unity is lookin' strong too πŸ‘«. Melissa Andreatta said it all, "Anything's possible with this group" 🀩.

πŸ“Š Stats say that teams that win their first match in a World Cup qualifying campaign have a 75% chance of makin' it to the next round πŸ“ˆ. So Scotland's got that goin' for 'em! The Belgian team has won all but one of their last five matches ⚽️.

πŸ” Andreatta might be worried about their history with Belgium, but let's not forget that every team is gettin' better in the women's game πŸ“Š. Scotland's squad has been boosted by experience and youth, it's gonna be an interesting campaign! πŸ”₯

Scotland will need to come through a play-off if they wanna make it to 2027 πŸŽ‰. The odds are against 'em, but I got faith in this squad πŸ’ͺ!

I'm kinda stoked for Scotland's squad, they've got some solid players coming back from injury πŸ’ͺ. Marina Piccone and Emma-Jane Staniforth are key, but I'm still worried about how they'll hold up against Belgium πŸ€”. Those guys have been playing some top-notch stuff in the past. And then there's Israel, 8-0 head-to-head record is a big deal ⚽️...but I think Luxembourg will give them a run for their money, especially since it's their first-ever match against Scotland πŸ˜…. The squad does sound like they've got some great team spirit and chemistry, but we gotta be realistic πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ...the group stage can get pretty brutal πŸ’₯. Still, I'm rooting for them to make a deep run and bring pride to the Scottish nation πŸ‘!

Omg 🀩 can't wait 4️⃣ Scotland's women's team 2 perform πŸ’ͺ🏽! Coach Melissa is so right 😊, unity & strength r key 2 success πŸ‘«πŸ’•. They've got a tough group but let's face it πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ, they're already winning heads up against Israel 😁. Dan Santos' Luxembourg side better bring their A-game πŸ€“ or Scotland's gonna come out on top πŸ†! Marina & Emma-Jane r back & ready 2 rock πŸ’ƒπŸ½πŸ’₯! Let's go Scotland πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ”₯

OMG, I'm like totally sure Andreatta is underestimating her opponents 🀯. Like, Belgium are already in League A and have been doing great in the women's game for ages! And Israel? They're gonna be super tough too, remember they won promotion back to League B? πŸ™Œ It's not just about Scotland being "hungry" for success, it's about them having solid strategies in place πŸ’‘. And let's not forget Luxembourg, who just won promotion and are looking fierce πŸ”₯. This group is defo gonna be competitive πŸ”’. But hey, I'm sure the squad will prove me wrong 😜... probably πŸ˜‚
