New Jersey voters go to polls to elect their next governor in closely watched race

lol I'm still trying to get over the whole Twitter shutdown thing 🙅‍♂️, you know how it was when Trump was in office? anyway, this NJ governor election is getting pretty heated 🌪️. I think Mikie Sherrill's got a good shot at it, but Jack Ciattarelli's not giving up 🤔. The whole immigration thing is super weird though - like, who doesn't want to protect their kids' future? 🤷‍♀️ I mean, I know some people are all about that "small government" life, but come on... 🙄. Food stamps being taken away from people in need is just plain cruel 😩. And what's up with the midterms coming up next year? Can't we just have one election without having to look ahead at the future? 🤯

OMG u guys!!! so its gonna be super close in new jersey!! Mikie Sherrill is leedin by 5 points in polls rn but Jack Ciattarelli's internal polling says different 🤔 i got a friend who knows someone and their family has been hit hard by the gov shutdown & they're super frustrated about food stamp cuts 😱 its gonna be interesting to see how this plays out esp with immigration on everyone's mind 🌎

I'm just worried about all this election drama 🤔. I mean, it's like, we're a country that prides itself on being fair and equal, but sometimes it feels like people are more interested in winning than doing what's right for everyone. Can't we just try to understand each other's perspectives and work towards finding common ground? 🤝 I'm not sure why immigration has become such a huge deal – can't we just treat people with kindness and respect, regardless of their background or status? 🙏

.. it's crazy how much our decisions at the polls can affect not just ourselves, but the people around us 🤯. Like, Richard's concern about food stamps is totally valid - what if we were in his shoes? 😩 And Michael's point about politics giving us a false sense of options... that's real talk 🤷‍♂️. It makes me think about how much our individual choices can impact the lives of others. What if our votes could actually create change, not just perpetuate more of the same? 💡

And what's interesting is that people are voting based on such a wide range of issues - immigration, food assistance, affordable housing... it's like we're all trying to make sense of this big, messy world 🌎. It's almost like we're searching for a sense of community and belonging in our votes. Does Mikie Sherrill's stance on undocumented immigrants really feel more secure than Jack Ciattarelli's? Or is that just what we want to hear? 🤔
