I don't think 8k-10k people is a lot for Halloween 
. I mean, I've been to big festivals in other cities and it's not like they're chaotic or anything. Santa Cruz seems to have this whole thing under control 
. Plus, UC students are already adults, they should be able to handle themselves. It's not like the cops need to crack down that hard 
. The Safety Enhancement Zone might be a good idea if people are being super reckless, but I don't think it's necessary for everyone to behave like that.

This Halloween in Santa Cruz is shaping up to be wild 
. With so many people descending upon the city, it's understandable that safety is top of mind for everyone involved. I think the authorities are taking a solid approach by increasing patrols and fining infractions, but at the same time, it's also great to see community members looking out for each other - like this student who's planning to work the next day so they can still have fun 
. It's all about balance, right? Not wanting people to get too rowdy or reckless, but also allowing them to let loose and celebrate the holiday. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly and everyone has a great time!

it's gonna be lit but also super sketchy. like, have u seen those videos of halloween parties getting outta hand? not exactly what i want to see on broadway st 
anyway, i guess it's good that the cops are teaming up with neighbors and all that... seems like a solid plan
