Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers: 'We don't want to be the biggest band in the world. It's just fun playing with our besties'

I gotta say, I'm loving this story about Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers! They're like the ultimate anti-establishment rock band, born from a 90s music film and a bunch of teenage friends who just wanted to challenge the norms. I mean, their name was initially meant as a joke, but it stuck and now they're living proof that you can make it big without taking yourself too seriously 😂.

It's amazing how they've gone from playing punk rock shows in pubs to touring with Foo Fighters - talk about a career upgrade! And I love how they've used their music to poke fun at themselves and the industry, like with their EP "Pretty Good for a Girl Band" 🤣. It's clear that their friendships are still super strong and that camaraderie is key to their success.

I also gotta give props to Scarlett McKahey, who admitted to feeling impostor syndrome but never gave up on her music. That takes a lot of guts, you know? And I'm loving the fact that they're not afraid to poke fun at themselves or acknowledge their influences - like that epic guitar solo from "Reptilia" by the Strokes 🎸.

Anyway, these Aussie rockers are definitely ones to watch - they're on fire and I'm hyped to see what they do next 🔥.

I'm loving the story of Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, you know, how they went from being this young band just trying to play shows at pubs with backpacks still on to becoming a legit rock act 🤟🎸. And their music is actually really good too! I mean, "Girl Sports" is like, so catchy and funny - I love how they poked fun at sexism in the music industry. But what's even cooler is that it was all just an accident, you know? They didn't set out to write a feminist anthem, but then one happened 🤷‍♀️.

I also love how their friendship has been such a key part of their success - like, Neve joking about not being able to contribute during the interview because she's driving lol. It's these little moments that make you go "aww, they're actually really cool people". And I'm glad they've found a way to balance their individual talents with their friendship and camaraderie - it makes all the more impressive what they've achieved.

Oh, and I think it's so awesome that they won the Aria award for best breakthrough artist - well deserved! 👏 But yeah, even though they have a lot of admiration for other bands like the Strokes, I think they're doing something special with their own sound. It's like, they've found this unique blend of punk and... stuff that's just really infectious 🎶.
