I'm getting pretty worried about these betting apps, you know?
They're like, super popular among crypto guys who can just throw around a ton of cash and sway the market in their favor. But what's the point of "wisdom of the crowd" if it's just gonna be some dude with a strong opinion who's got the means to push his luck?
It feels like these platforms are more interested in making bank than actually providing us with any real insight into what's gonna happen.
And don't even get me started on how they're partnering with major news orgs... that just sounds like a recipe for spreading misinformation and biased opinions. I mean, if CNN or CNBC is backing it, does that mean we should take whatever these platforms say as gospel?
It doesn't feel right to me.
I think we need to be super careful about how we engage with these kinds of platforms, especially in the lead-up to an election. We don't want our opinions being swayed by people who have a lot more money than sense.
