I'm not sure about this whole stabilisation force idea... it sounds like just another way to paper over the real issues in Gaza . I mean, we're talking about sending troops into a region that's already got a history of conflict and instability - what's to stop things from escalating? And what's with the US trying to lead the whole thing? Don't get me wrong, they've always been great at throwing their weight around, but is this really the best way to resolve the situation?
And let's be real, if Muslim countries are only going to join up because of guarantees of protection from Israeli aggression, that's not exactly confidence-building . It feels like we're just patching together a safety net without actually addressing the underlying issues.
I'm all for international cooperation and whatnot, but this seems like a classic case of "just throw money and troops at it until something works" rather than taking the time to really think through the consequences .
