Windows at Philly's federal courthouse broken by vandals, U.S. Marshals say

Federal courthouse in Philly hit by coordinated vandalism, authorities say. At approximately 10:30pm Monday night, vandals took advantage of a cobblestone brick, smashing two windows at Philadelphia's federal courthouse. The James A. Byrne Courthouse, home to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, is under investigation.

According to Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Robert Clark, it remains unclear if the vandalism was a targeted act, with investigators exploring potential links to similar crimes in Old City on Monday. The U.S. Marshals Service, along with the Federal Protective Service (FPS), is leading the investigation and reviewing video surveillance footage.

The incident has sparked concerns about the safety of the courthouse and its surroundings. "We will share updates when they are available," confirmed a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security.

No immediate comment was received from the U.S. Marshals Service or the Philadelphia Police Department regarding the incident. The Department of Homeland Security has taken charge of the investigation, with the FPS reviewing video footage to determine the extent of the damage and identify any potential suspects.

man... vandalism like that can really make you think about the state of our society ๐Ÿค”. is it a cry for attention or just a senseless act of destruction? and what does it say about us when we see people taking the law into their own hands like this? ๐Ÿ’ฅ i mean, shouldn't we be working together to build something positive instead of tearing things down? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ but at the same time, is it even possible to stop people from acting out when they're driven by such intense emotions? it's a tough one to wrap your head around... ๐Ÿคฏ

ugh, Philly's courthouse just got vandalized ๐Ÿค• - seems like some people are really unhappy right now ๐Ÿ˜’. can't say I'm surprised tho, we've seen enough crazy stuff happening in cities lately... it's always something. hope they catch the culprits and get to the bottom of this ๐Ÿ‘€. but seriously, when is it gonna stop? ๐Ÿคฏ just got a bad feeling about this one ๐Ÿ’”

๐Ÿ˜Ÿ this is getting outta hand dude - federal courthouse gets smashed up in Philly... like what's next? ๐Ÿคฏ we're already livin' in a world where vandals can just waltz into these iconic buildings and cause chaos... and the cops are all like "we'll share updates when they're available" ๐Ÿ™„ meanwhile, no one's talkin' about the root causes of this stuff... it's just another example of how our society's losin' its grip on respect and civility ๐Ÿ’”

man this is so concerning ๐Ÿค•... i mean, our country's history and laws are literally being smashed right in front of us... i don't know if it was a one-off thing or just another example of people feeling like they can get away with stuff, but it's gotta be taken seriously. the fact that it happened at night and used something as simple as a cobblestone brick to cause damage is just ridiculous ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ... we need to make sure our court systems are protected, but also that we're addressing the root causes of this behavior, you know? it's not just about fixing the windows (although, idk how they're gonna fix those) but making sure people feel like their voices are being heard and stuff.

๐Ÿค” just saw that Philly's federal courthouse got hit by some vandals ๐Ÿšง๐Ÿ’ฅ like what's going on in this city? first it's a robbery, then a fire, now vandalism... it feels like they're trying to tell us something ๐Ÿ“ฃ but honestly, it's all just a mess. i'm not saying anything about who or what might be behind it, but it's concerning that our courthouses can't even get some peace and quiet ๐Ÿ’”. hope the investigators find out what's going on and put an end to it ASAP ๐Ÿ’ช

omg what's goin on w/ that courthouse in Philly?! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ they gotta catch those vandals ASAP tho i'm really worried about security now ๐Ÿค” like what if it was a targeted attack or somethin? ๐Ÿ” idk if i'd wanna visit Philly again if its not safe ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ anyhoo, hopefully the DHS can get to the bottom of this and catch the culprits ๐Ÿ’ฏ gotta give props to the U.S. Marshals Service for leadin' the investigation tho ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ they're doin a great job keepin us safe ๐Ÿ™

Ugh, another courthouse hit by vandals ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Like, what's going on with these coordinated attacks? It feels like we're living in a movie or something where people just think it's okay to trash public property without consequences ๐Ÿ˜’. I mean, two windows smashed and now they're investigating if it was a targeted act... come on, who does that? And the fact that DHS is handling the investigation makes me think this might be more than just random vandalism ๐Ÿค”. I'm not saying there's anything sinister going on, but it's definitely got people on edge. What's next, vandalism at the Smithsonian or something? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I feel so bad about this ๐Ÿ˜”. Our federal courthouse got vandalized like that? It's a public building where justice is supposed to be served, you know? ๐Ÿคฏ I'm worried about what could've led someone to do such a thing... was it a prank gone wrong or something more sinister? ๐Ÿ’ก Either way, I hope the investigators can figure out who did this and make sure they don't hurt anyone else. It's not safe for the people working there ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿšจ.

And have you seen those cobblestone bricks? They're like, super old-school... I wonder if that was a deliberate choice by whoever smashed the windows ๐Ÿ’ฅ. Anyway, it's definitely not cool to mess with our important buildings like this ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a quick resolution and that justice is served ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Ugh, this is so frustrating!!! ๐Ÿคฏ Can't these vandals just leave buildings alone?! I mean, what's the point of smashing two windows at a courthouse?! Did they really think it was gonna be some kind of thrill ride or something? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Like, have you seen those cobblestone bricks? They're not exactly easy to break! And now people are worried about the safety of the whole building... that's just crazy talk ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ. I mean, what if someone got hurt trying to stop them?! Or what if this is some kind of thing that sets off a chain reaction of more vandalism?! It's just so reckless and thoughtless... I don't get it at all ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

man thats crazy what's goin on in philly right now vandalism is like super frustrating especially when its at a courthouse like this is supposed to be a safe place for everyone ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿšซ i hope they catch whoever did it soon and fix those windows ASAP gotta keep our courthouses and public spaces safe and secure ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ผ

man this is so messed up lol i mean i get that ppl wanna make a statement but smashing windows isnt the way to do it btw whats with the cobblestone brick tho like who even uses those anymore anyway yeah its super concerning that they dont know if its a targeted act or not hopefully they catch whoever did it and they take responsibility for their actions ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿ”’
